Inspection of hazards in attic of foreclosure home
Look for disconnected pipes in the attic and elsewhere. Here’s what I found in one of the attics:

Disconnected pipe in the attic. This is a serious issue. See also leaks under the condenser unit on the upper right.
Any daylight coming from any holes or crack from the roof? -- No -- Yes --> This is an indication of roof leak.
Any rusted nails from roof sheating? -- No -- Yes --> There is a moisture problem.

Material supporting this roof has a pretty much even surface. No rust was observed on the nails indicating that it is not subject to moisture and the attic has good ventilation. Wear a hard hat when inspecting the roof in the attic to avoid injury. Especially rusted nails may pose serious risk!
